Requests for a do-it-yourself kit for the Pinlock system are coming in frequently. Customer satisfaction is important to us, but this is an item that we will not be offering. Pinlock will be not be offering a DIY kit. Following are the key reasons that we do not offer a DIY kit: First, any modification of a helmet will void the warranty on the helmet.
An aftermarket Shoei Pinlock ready shield (CW-1) will be available in the US in February. The Pinlock lens is much larger extending to the top of the eye port eliminating any line of sight issues when the rider is in a tucked position. Lenses will be available in all tints. Pinlock lenses have shipped to Helmet House, the exclusive distributor for Shoei in the US.
